I would say that the Ericsson T18 laptop scam is the most effective email scam/chain email that I ever encountered. Just as of today I received 18 Ericsson T18 laptop scam emails from my different set of friends. This chain email really disturbs me on a variety of levels. Let me enumerate them for you.

1. I couldn’t believe how gullible people are. In these day and age, who would give away anything for free.

2. Sony Ericsson only manufactures mobile phones.

3. Ericsson T18 and Ericsson R320 are older models that have now been discontinued.

3. Chain letters are a technique used by spammers to gather email addresses. Every time you forward this email to your friends, your email address and theirs is getting added to the main text of this email that will eventually get in the hands of hundreds of people you don’t even know.
