1GHz ARM CORTEX-A8

1ghz processor hummingbird

Samsung recently announced the fastest ARM Cortex-A8 processor architecture. Using 45 nm low-power, low-leakage process technology the processor codenamed Hummingbird, delivers the impressive 2000DMIPS at 1GHz. Making it faster than the iPhone’s 600mhz processor and it’s consumes less energy.

By having a fast processor, all the possibilities in mobile computing is now possible this includes 1080p full HD recording on a mobile phone powered by the new Hummingbird. I’m excited to see this in action when Samsung uses this processor in a windows mobile phone or in a S60 device. Read more details here.
