Man! I never knew how to speed up my internet connection before. I never thought this is possible. I originally have a plan 256kbps but I managed to speed up my internet connection just applying these simple instructions. Now my internet connection has boosted up upto 1.3mbps.

This is how to do it…

First, by editing gpedit.msc:
1. Go to start / run and then type in “gpedit.msc” (without the quote)
2. After the screen has loaded click on “Local Computer Policy”
3. Click “Computer Configuration”
4. Administrative Templates
5. Network
6. Qos Packet Scheduler
7. Look for “Limit reservable bandwidth”
8. After the loading, click on the radio button “Enabled”
9. Then set the “Bandwith limit %” to zero (the smaller the number, the better)
10. That’s it! It’s done…

Second thing to do on how to speed up your internet connection is by applying an open DNS in your network connection.

1. Select Control Panel from the Start menu
2. Click Network Connections from the Control Panel choices
3. Choose your connection from the Network Connections window
4. Click Properties button
5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
6. Click the radio button Use the following DNS server addresses and type in OpenDNS addresses in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server fields

Preferred DNS server address for Open DNS is:
* 208.67.222.222

Alternate DNS server address for Open DNS is:
* 208.67.220.220

7. That was it! Restart your computer and enjoy having a faster internet connection

By the way, to check your internet speed connection, I recommend speedtest.net. I like it because it tests your connection through your nearest server (whatever that is).

I hope my instructions are clear and by this time you are happily surfing on a faster connection. If for some reason you haven’t configured it yet on how to speed up your internet connection , just leave a comment and I’ll be glad to answer your questions.
