Sun cellular maybe an underdog in the mobile telecommunications arena, but to tell you the truth they have the best and easiest GPRS configuration settings.

Here’s how:

1. Just text SUN to 202
2. Just wait for the reply. I forgot what the reply says but just type-in YES to 202 to start activating your GPRS settings.
3. Wait for the confirmation from Sun. After you received the confirmation it will prompt you to install the GPRS settings.
4. That’s it! Sun has the best GPRS settings. It’s hassle free. No need to configure anything.

After installation you can now enjoy browsing the web or send MMS messages. This works on a lot of mobile phone brands including Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung mobile phones. Sun will be charging you P10 per 30 minutes just like Smart. Hope my instructions helped you configuring your GPRS settings. If somehow you cannot activate it, or if you have other questions, just post a comment.

Thanks for reading!

    Hi Folks,

I am using a Sony Ericson XPERIA x10 mini pro but was having issues with the SUN internet and WAP configuration settings. My sun sim is not a broadband sim it is just a regular sim that you can buy in a retail sim store. I’ve tried everything like:

    Name: Sun INTERNET
    APN: minternet
    Proxy: Not Set
    Port: Not Set
    Username: Not Set
    Password: Not Set
    Server: Not Set
    MMSC: Not Set
    MMS Proxy: Not Set
    MMS Port: Not Set
    MCC: 515
    MNC: 05
    Authentication Type: PAP
    APN Type: Internet

    Name: Sun WAP
    APN: WAP
    Proxy: 202.138.159.78
    Port: 8080
    Username: Not Set
    Password: Not Set
    Server: Not Set
    MMSC: Not Set
    MMS Proxy: Not Set
    MMS Port: Not Set
    MCC: 515
    MNC: 05
    Authentication Type: PAP
    APN Type: Internet

Sun Customer Service cannot help you nor the Sony Ericsson team can. grrrr! Can someone pls. help me on this. I will appreciate your help.

    Thanks

    Please help…

  18. Glenn says:

  19. froi says:

will this setting work with samsung galaxy s gt-i9000? i borrowed that kind of phone because it looks promising but cannot find the area to modify the internet/gprs settings.

i think what you have instructed here is good for the P10 per 30 minuted. and in that configuration, the APN is set to minternet. but for post paid unlimited internet, that should be set to ffband. the question is, i can’t find the area where to change that.

please send me an email if you know where and how to do it.

    thanks!
